Overview

The Omron A16/M16 series includes a range of pushbutton switches and pilot lights designed for a mounting aperture of 16 mm. These components offer a modular construction, combining a pushbutton with a lamp switch unit and a case. The pushbuttons are designed to be assembled quickly and without tools due to the “snap-in” switch unit, which simplifies installation.

Features

The A16/M16 products are versatile, supporting a wide array of switching capacities suitable for both general and microload applications. They are engineered for high reliability and are available in models with IP65 or IP40 protection, ensuring resistance to dust and moisture to varying degrees. Additionally, these switches have a short mounting depth of less than 28.5 mm below the panel surface, optimizing space usage.

From a safety and standards compliance perspective, the series is UL and CSA approved, with VDE approval pending. It also meets the requirements of the EN60943-5-1 and IEC947-5-1 standards.

Ordering Information

Customers can select from different flange shapes (rectangular, square, round) according to their design needs. The A16/M16 series is available in multiple colors for LED/incandescent lighting options, including red, green, yellow (more of an amber shade), white, and blue. Non-illuminated versions are available in the same colors, with the addition of black.

Protective Case and Terminal Types

The series offers protective structures with oil-resistant IP40 and IP65 ratings, suitable for different environmental conditions. For the terminal type, solder terminals (tab terminals #110) are standard.

Lamps and Switch Unit Specifications

The A16/M16 series can accommodate both LED and incandescent lamps within the pushbutton assemblies. These assemblies are rated for various electrical specifications, including:

125 VAC with a current rating of 5 A
250 VAC with a current rating of 3 A
30 VDC with a current rating of 3 A

The minimum applicable load for the switches is rated at mA for a 5 VDC circuit, indicating their suitability for low power signaling circuits or electronic loads.
