Overview
The 7ESO Series by 3M comprises surface-mount card headers compatible with both CompactFlash Type I and II. Designed for stable and precise connections, these headers come equipped with extended guide rails to streamline the card insertion process. The headers feature single-row surface mount solder tails that enable seamless automatic placement and IR soldering. They are compliant with the CompactFlash Association standards, ensuring both compatibility and reliability.
Features
The headers offer top and bottom board-mount polarization options. For added convenience during PCB assembly, an optional 2 mm board standoff is provided for flexibility. The structure includes a metal brace for ejector attachment, enhancing the stability of the connection. A range of ejector styles is available to cater to different requirements, and they are purchasable either pre-assembled or separately.
Material and Marking
Insulation is made of high-temperature thermoplastic with a flammability rating of UL 94V-0 and comes in beige. Contacts are constructed from copper alloy with multiple plating options, such as 2.03 um [80 u”] nickel underplating and either 0.38 um [15 u”] or 0.76 um [30 u”] gold over the wiping area. The solder tails come in 3.81um [150 u”] matte tin or gold flash. Each unit is marked with the 3M logo for brand identification.
Electrical Specifications
The headers have a current rating of 0.5A and an insulation resistance of 10^12 ohms at 500 VDC. They can also withstand a voltage of 500V for a duration of one minute. These features ensure these connectors can handle typical electrical requirements for CompactFlash connections.
Environmental Specifications
The temperature rating spans from -40°C to +85°C, making them suitable for a wide range of operational climates. Their process rating adheres to a maximum of 260°C, in line with J-STD-020C manufacturing standards. The headers also boast a Moisture Sensitivity Level of 1, ensuring reliability even in environments with high moisture levels.
Packaging and Compliance
