General Information
The 2014 Ram 1500 is available in Regular Cab, Quad Cab, and Crew Cab, with 2WD and 4WD options.
Assembly plants: Saltillo Truck Assembly, Mexico (Regular Cab); Warren Truck Assembly Plant, Michigan (Quad Cab and Crew Cab).
Engine Options
Three engine options are available:
- 3.6-liter 24-valve DOHC V-6 with 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque
- 3.0-liter DOHC EcoDiesel V-6 with 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque
- 5.7-liter HEMI 16-valve V-8 with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque
Transmission Options
Three transmission options are available:
- 65RFE automatic six-speed
- ZF 8HP45 automatic eight-speed with Electronic Range Select (ERS)
- ZF 8HP70 automatic eight-speed with ERS
Transfer Case and Axles
Two transfer case options are available:
- BW 44-45 part-time
- BW 44-44 on-demand
Axle options include ZF 215 mm front and C235 mm rear with available limited slip.
Electrical System and Suspension
The electrical system features a Powernet architecture with alternator options up to 220-amp.
The suspension includes upper and lower arms, coil springs, and twin-tube shock absorbers, with optional air suspension.
Brakes and Air Bags
Brake options include 13.2 x 1.1 vented discs with ABS.
Air bag options include dual-rate, tandem diaphragm vacuum power-assist.
