Overview

Omron’s G6K series offers a range of Surface-mounting High-frequency Relays suitable for applications that require superior high-frequency characteristics in miniature form factors. These relays are specifically designed to handle frequencies up to 1 GHz for standard models and up to 3 GHz for specific models, making them ideal for communications equipment, broadcasting, audio-visual, and test & measurement applications.

Key Features

The G6K series boasts exceptional high-frequency performance with an isolation of 20 dB min between contacts of the same polarity and 30 dB min between contacts of different polarity, combined with a maximum insertion loss of 0.2 dB. They offer a miniature size of just 10.3 x 6.9 x 5.4 mm (LxWxH), and have a rated power consumption of 100 mW. The series features both single-side stable and single-winding latching models to cater to different application requirements, and is RoHS compliant.

Models and Variants

The G6K series includes the standard G6K(U)-2F-RF models and the smaller footprint G6K(U)-2F-RF-S models to save on space. For higher frequency applications, the G6K(U)-2F-RF-T models are offered for the 3-GHz band. Additionally, new PCB terminal models, such as the GGK-2P-RF, have been introduced for ease of integration.

Specifications and Ordering

All models are DPDT (2c) contact form and are fully sealed for protection. The standard and space-saving models come with surface-mounting terminals, while the high-bandwidth 3 GHz variant and new PCB terminal models offer a different terminal configuration. Available coil voltages for these relays range from 3 to 24 VDC, with the minimum packaging unit being 300 pcs/tray or 300 pcs/reel, depending on the model. Notably, ordering the reel tape packaging requires adding ‘TR03’ to the end of the model number.

Product Identification

When ordering a relay, the rated coil voltage is added to the model number for identification. However, on the product case and the packing, the voltage is marked simply as ‘VDC’ without specifying the value. Further, it is important to note that for tape packaging orders, ‘TR’ is not part of the model number and thus not marked on the relay case.
