Overview
The datasheet provides details on the 25A Glass Passivated Bridge Rectifiers under the names GBPC25005 through GBPC2510 series. They are obsolete, and replacement models GBJ25005 and GBJ2510 are recommended. Bridge rectifiers are designed to convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC).
Features
The bridge rectifiers tout a glass passivated die construction, ensuring low leakage current and power loss with enhanced efficiency. They can handle surge overload up to 300A peak. A metal base is used for superior heat dissipation. Another feature is the 1500V isolation voltage from the case to the terminal. Compliance with UL standards (File Number E94661) and RoHS directives is also highlighted, with a lead-free finish.
Mechanical Data
The mechanical structure of the GBPC series involves molded plastic with an internally mounted heatsink. It meets the UL Flammability Classification Rating of 94V-0 and is sensitive to moisture at a level defined by J-STD-020C. Terminals are silver-plated leads, solderable as per MIL-STD-202, Method 208. They are marked for polarity, designed for through-hole mounting with a torque maximum of 8.0 Inch-pounds. GBPC-W variants with wire leads and non-W variants with Faston terminals. Approximate weight for GBPC is 20 grams, with the GBPC-W weighing slightly less at 14 grams. The ordering information is indicated to be available on Page 3.
Electrical Characteristics
Electrical attributes provide insight into their use within circuits that have a single phase, half-wave, 60Hz load, whether resistive or inductive (with a 20% derating for capacitive loads). The series includes models that accommodate various voltages, starting from 50V up to 1000V in peak repetitive reverse voltage (VRRM), working peak reverse voltage (VRWM), and DC blocking voltage (VR), with different RMS Reverse Voltage specifications accordingly. The average rectified output current at a case temperature (Tc) of 60°C is 25A, while the non-repetitive peak forward surge current is rated at 300A. Forward voltage per element at 12.5A is 1.1V, with peak reverse current varying between 5.0μA at 25°C and 500μA at 125°C. The fusing rating (I²t), total capacitance, and thermal resistance per leg are issues with their respective values, and the operational and storage temperatures range from -65 to +150°C.
Notes:
- The surge rating is specified based on certain timing conditions.
- Capacitance is measured at 0MHz with an applied reverse voltage of 4.0V DC.
- The thermal resistance junction to the case is provided with the device mounted on a heatsink.
- “W” suffix represents models with wire leads; no suffix indicates Faston terminals.
