The shell is made from a copper alloy with tin or nickel plating.
Electrical Characteristics
Key electrical specifications include a low-level contact resistance of 30 milliohms maximum. The connectors can withstand dielectric voltages of 750 VAC minimum and have an insulation resistance of at least 1000 megohms. They support a contact current rating of 1 ampere.
Mechanical Characteristics
From a mechanical perspective, connectors are rated with an insertion force of maximum 3.5 kg and an extraction force of 1.0 kg maximum. They are designed to handle 1500 mating cycles and operate within a temperature range of -55°C to +105°C, making them suitable for demanding environments.
Order Information
The order information section provides guidance on how to specify the desired connector. The USB series includes USB “A” and “B” types, with a modification code for contact gold plating and termination type. Options for termination type include straight right angle and surface mount technology (SMT). The different profile height options for USB “A” types are listed as either 4.13 mm or 6.50 mm, while for USB “B” types, it’s specified at 5.69 mm. All connectors are of the female design type with 4 contact positions available.
