Overview
The MODX7/MODXA synthesizer comes with four reference guides: the Owner’s Manual, the Reference Manual, the Synthesizer Parameter Manual, and the Data List.
The Reference Manual describes the internal design of the MODX7/MODXA and the various parameters that can be adjusted and set.
Functional Blocks
The MODX7/MODXA system consists of eight main functional blocks: Tone Generator, AD Input, Sequencer, Motion Sequencer, Arpeggio, Controller, Effect, and Envelope Follower.
Tone Generator Block
The tone generator block produces sound in response to MIDI messages received from the Sequencer block, Controller block, Arpeggio block, and from external MIDI instruments.
A Performance is a single set of sounds consisting of multiple Parts, and can be edited in the Common/Audio Edit display.
Part Structure
A Performance consists of 16 Parts, and there are three Part types: Normal Parts (AWM2), Normal Parts (FM-X), and Drum Parts.
Each Part is created by editing parameters unique to each Element/Operator/Drum Key and parameters common to all the Elements/Operators/Keys.
