Overview
The MONTAGE Reference Manual is a comprehensive guide to the internal design and parameters of the MONTAGE synthesizer.
Functional Blocks
The MONTAGE system consists of eight main functional blocks: Tone Generator, AID Input, Sequencer, Arpeggio, Motion Sequencer, Effect, Envelope Follower, and Controller.
Tone Generator Block
The Tone Generator block produces sound in response to MIDI messages from the Sequencer block, Controller block, Arpeggio block, and external MIDI instruments.
A Performance is a single set of sounds consisting of multiple Parts, which can be edited in the Common/Audio Edit display.
Part Structure
A Performance consists of 16 Parts, including Normal Parts (AWM2), Normal Parts (FM-X), and Drum Parts.
Each Part is created by editing parameters unique to each Element/Operator/Drum Key and parameters common to all the Elements/Operators/Keys.
