Safety Precautions
Read all instructions carefully before using the miter saw to avoid serious personal injury.
Follow general safety rules, including replacing damaged cords, keeping the work area clean and well-lit, and avoiding operation in explosive atmospheres.
Wear safety equipment, such as safety goggles, dust masks, and hearing protection, and ensure proper footing and balance.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces, and do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Specific Safety Rules for Miter Saws
Use the correct tool for the job, and do not force the tool or use it for purposes not intended.
Keep the workpiece stationary and clamped or braced, and do not feed the workpiece into the blade or cut “freehand”.
Plan your work to provide adequate support for workpieces, and do not use another person as a substitute for a table extension.
Let the blade reach full speed before contacting the workpiece, and avoid reaching with your hand under a coasting blade.
