About the Device

The Lumis series VPAP devices are bilevel positive airway pressure devices intended for non-invasive ventilation for patients with respiratory insufficiency or obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).

Indications for Use

The devices are intended for home and hospital use, and the humidifier is intended for single patient use in the home environment and re-use in a hospital/institutional environment.

Clinical Benefits

The clinical benefits of CPAP and bilevel therapy include reduction in apnoeas, hypopnoeas, and sleepiness, as well as improved quality of life.

Intended Patient Population/Medical Conditions

The devices are intended for patients with obstructive pulmonary diseases, restrictive pulmonary diseases, central respiratory regulation diseases, obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), and obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS).

Contraindications and Adverse Effects

Positive airway pressure therapy may be contraindicated in some patients with severe bullous lung disease, pneumothorax, or pneumomediastinum. Adverse effects may include drying of the nose, mouth, or throat, nosebleed, bloating, ear or sinus discomfort, eye irritation, and skin rashes.

About the Control Panel

The control panel includes a start/stop button, dial, and home button. Different icons may be displayed on the screen, including ramp time, wireless signal strength, humidity, and airplane mode.
