The Unify” CRT-D is designed to provide ventricular anti-tachycardia pacing and ventricular defibrillation for automated treatment of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. It features the smallest footprint of any high-voltage device available, with a CorVue” congestion monitoring feature that monitors intrathoracic impedance in multiple vectors for improved accuracy.
The device has a 40 J delivered energy for defibrillation and ShockGuard” technology with DecisionTx” programming to reduce inappropriate therapy and minimize the need for programming adjustments at implant. It also has a DF connector designed to simplify the implant process.
Indications and Contraindications
The device is intended to provide ventricular anti-tachycardia pacing and ventricular defibrillation for automated treatment of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias, as well as cardiac resynchronization therapy for patients with congestive heart failure.
Contraindications include ventricular tachyarrhythmias resulting from transient or correctable factors, and the device is not intended for use in patients with certain medical conditions or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
