Purpose & School Orders

This guide is intended to help school nurses with the basic operation of a student’s MiniMed 770G system.

Every student on the MiniMed 770G system should have signed orders from the student’s healthcare professional, including a backup plan if the pump is not able to be used.

System Components

The MiniMed 770G system consists of an insulin pump, sensor, infusion set, transmitter, and insulin reservoir.

Understanding the MiniMed 770G System

The system can deliver insulin in two modes: Manual Mode and SmartGuard Auto Mode.

Manual Mode uses the pump with or without a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) in a traditional way.

SmartGuard Auto Mode automatically adjusts basal insulin every 5 minutes based on sensor glucose readings.
