The Persona IQ Knee Implant, also known as “The Smart Knee,” is designed to improve patient satisfaction after total knee replacement by providing surgeons with more options for matching the implant to the patient’s bone anatomy.

How it Works

A small “smart” stem extension is attached to the bottom portion of the implant, containing sensors that capture information such as range of motion, stride length, walking speed, and step count. This data is then viewed via a secure online portal by the patient, surgeon, and medical care team.

Benefits

The collected data allows the physician to remotely view the patient’s knee data throughout their recovery, providing confidence that they are connected to their healthcare team.

The device is easy to use and can be set up once following instructions in the welcome kit. It automatically collects data overnight and sends it directly to the surgeon.

Data Collected

The Persona IQ collects data on range of motion, location, step count, stride length, distance walked, and walking speed.

However, it does not collect data on the range of motion in your knee, your location, your step count, your stride length, the distance you walk, or your walking speed.
