Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the clinical implementation of the MAKOplasty Total Hip procedure using the RIO (Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopaedic) system.
Indications for Use
The RIO system is intended to assist surgeons in providing software-defined spatial boundaries for orientation and reference information to anatomical structures during orthopedic procedures, including total hip arthroplasty (THA).
Warnings and Precautions
The MAKOplasty Total Hip Application is only compatible with specific implants that have been verified and validated for use with the system, and is not intended for partial or total hip resurfacing.
Design Overview
The RIO system consists of the Robotic Arm, Camera Stand, and Guidance Module, and is used to plan and execute primary THA, providing acetabular cup inclination and version within ±5 degrees and the new acetabular center of rotation within ±2 mm of the pre-operative plan.
