The GOA is defined as the area created by open spaces between the valve ring and the leaflets, excluding the area occupied by the leaflets.
This definition is in line with previous definitions for GOA in case of native valves and is intended to characterize prosthetic heart valve performance.
The valve’s hydrodynamic performance has been measured and reported in various studies, including laboratory measurements and clinical evaluations.
