Purpose and Scope
This manual guides facilities in establishing and maintaining an effective CT quality control program to produce diagnostic quality images at the lowest appropriate dose.
The manual provides a minimum set of tests to ensure a scanner performs consistently and yields acceptable images.
Scope Limitations
The manual does not cover acceptance testing or ensuring a scanner meets manufacturer specifications at initial installation.
It also does not cover quality control programs for diagnostic workstations, which is beyond its scope.
