Introduction
The Callisto eye image-guided system is a markerless system used for positioning toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) during cataract surgery.
Method
The system uses infrared reference images captured by the IOLMaster 700 and live-stream images from the Opmi Lumera 700 surgical microscope. These images are overlayed for a translucent view, allowing the surgeon to determine the steep axis and incision site.
Results
The study compared the Callisto eye system with the manual marking technique in 80 patients undergoing cataract surgery with toric IOL implantation. The results showed no significant differences in uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), or degree of misalignment of the toric IOL between the two groups.
Conclusion
The Callisto eye image-guided system was found to be as effective as the manual marking technique in positioning toric IOLs, with no significant differences in visual outcomes or degree of misalignment.
