Purpose and Indications for Use
The BD Alaris” Pump Infusion Set is designed for use with the BD Alaris”” Pump Module or gravity flow. It is intended for continuous or intermittent delivery of fluids and medications through clinically acceptable routes of administration.
Intended Use
The set is intended for use by trained healthcare professionals within healthcare facilities through intravenous, intra-arterial, and subcutaneous routes for adults, pediatrics, and neonates, or irrigation of fluid spaces for adults.
Warnings and Precautions
To prevent free-flow, close the set clamp when the safety clamp on the pump segment is open. Ensure the fluid path is free of air before connecting to a patient. Do not access the y-site using a needle or blunt cannula, as this will damage the valve and cause leaking.
