Introduction

The Accu-Chek Performa system is designed for self-testing and near-patient testing by people with diabetes and healthcare professionals. It consists of the Accu-Chek Performa family of meters, test strips, control solution, and linearity test kit.

Important Information

Test strips should be stored at temperatures between 2°C and 30°C, and not frozen. They should be used within the expiration date and not past the use-by date. The system is not intended for diagnosis or screening of diabetes mellitus, nor for testing neonate cord blood samples.

Performance Characteristics

The system complies with the requirements of ISO 15197:2013 and has been tested for accuracy and precision. The system has a detection limit of 0.6 mmol/L and a measuring range of 0.6-33.3 mmol/L.

Precautions and Warnings

There are risks of serious health incidents if the system is not used correctly. Failure to follow testing instructions, test strip storage and handling instructions, and control test procedures can lead to incorrect test results. There is also a risk of infection from human blood and a risk of suffocation from small parts.
