Warning
The Accu-Chek Instant meter and Accu-Chek FastClix finger pricker are intended for patient self-monitoring by an individual person only and must not be used to test blood glucose from more than one person.
Performing a Blood Glucose Test
A blood glucose test requires the meter, Accu-Chek Instant test strip, and lancing device with a lancet inserted. Wash your hands, prepare the lancing device, and use a new test strip for each test.
The meter displays the test result with an arrow indicating whether it falls above, within, or below the target range. Remove and discard the used test strip.
Setting the Time and Date
The meter prompts you to set the time and date the first time you turn it on or if an error occurs. Press and hold down until the flashing test strip symbol appears.
Changing the Batteries
Replace the batteries with two new 3-volt lithium batteries, coin cell type CR2032. Remove the old batteries and insert the new ones, making sure to replace both batteries at the same time.
Setting up the Lancing Device
Familiarize yourself with the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device. Remove the cap, insert the lancet drum, and adjust the lancet depth to a comfortable penetration level.
