Overview

The NACE Series of surface mount aluminum electrolytic capacitors are primarily designed for general purpose use and are suitable for automatic mounting and reflow soldering processes. The series offers an expanded capacitance range up to 6800µF and boasts 2000 operating hours at temperatures up to 85°C.

Features

Key features of the NACE Series capacitors include a cylindrical V-chip construction, low cost, compatibility with reflow soldering, a broad operating temperature range (-40°C to +85°C), and a capacitance tolerance of ±20%. The series is RoHS compliant and offers anti-solvent properties for two minutes. The capacitors are designed with a focus on reliability across various electronic applications.

Electrical Characteristics

These capacitors operate within a rated voltage range from 4Vdc to 100Vdc, offering products with different capacitance values, max leakage currents, dissipation factors (Tan δ), and impedance ratios. The leakage current is the greater value of either 0.01CV or 3µA after 2 minutes at 20°C, depending on the working voltage (WV) and physical dimensions of the capacitor. Additionally, the impedance ratio at 120Hz is maintained between 2 (at Z-25°C/Z+20°C) to 15 (at Z-40°C/Z+20°C).

Performance and Reliability

The capacitors’ performance is showcased by the load life test, in which the Tan δ is less than 200% of the maximum specified value and the leakage current remains below the maximum specified value after 2000 hours at 85°C. The capacitance change is promised to be within ±25% of the initial measured value.

Part Number System

The part number system is detailed to aid users in identifying specifications such as series, capacitance code, tolerance code, working voltage, and packaging options. Options for tape and reel sizes for automated assembly (13″ reel or 15″ reel) are also indicated. Capacitors can be ordered with an optional plastic reel instead of the standard cardboard.
