Overview
The NACE Series are surface mount aluminum electrolytic capacitors designed for general purpose use. They offer a cylindrical V-Chip construction and come with the assurance of 2000 operating hours at a temperature of 85°C. The series is notable for its expanded capacitance-voltage (CV) range, reaching up to 6800pF, making it suited for a diverse array of electronic applications.
Features
- Low-cost, general-purpose capacitors
- Expanded capacitance-voltage (CV) range up to 6800pF
- Designed for automatic mounting and reflow soldering
- RoHS compliant, adhering to restrictions on hazardous substances
Characteristics
The NACE Series capacitors operate within a voltage range of 4.0 to 100Vdc and offer capacitance values from 0.47 to 6800μF. With a capacitance tolerance of ±20% (M) and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, these components are designed to remain stable and reliable under a variety of conditions. Leakage current specifications ensure a maximum of either 0.01CV or 3μA after 2 minutes, whichever is greater, based on the working voltage (WV).
Performance
In terms of impedance and capacitor change tolerance, these capacitors maintain exceptional performance. The impedance ratio at -25°C to +20°C at 120Hz is set at 2, and the ratio at -40°C to +20°C at 15. Capacitance change is within ±25% of the initial measured value. Furthermore, under load life testing—conducted at 85°C over 2000 hours—capacitance shift, tan δ (loss tangent), and leakage current remain within specified maximum values, ensuring long-term reliability.
Part Number System
Each capacitor’s part number provides a quick reference to its specifications, including series designation, capacitance, tolerance, working voltage, dimensions, and packaging information. For instance, a part number such as “NACE 101 M 16V 6.3×5.5 IR” indicates a RoHS compliant capacitor from the NACE series, with 100μF capacitance (101), a tolerance of ±20% (M), rated at 16Vdc working voltage, having dimensions of 6.3mm diameter by 5.5mm length, and packaged in a reel. Additionally, information on reel sizes and materials (cardboard or optional plastic) can be found on pages 5 and 6 of the datasheet.
