Overview of Series 3300 Pre-grounding Connectors

Series 3300 connectors are UL recognized and CSA certified plug and socket connectors designed to provide increased safety through their pre-grounding feature. This series includes a variety of styles suitable for chassis and cable mounting, equipped with different types of mounting hardware and locking devices. The signature aspect of these connectors is that the grounding contact is longer than active contacts, ensuring grounding occurs first upon mating, which negates the need for contact trimming and results in lower installation costs. Interchangeability and Mounting

The 3300 series connectors are interchangeable with Series 300 type connectors. Electrical Specifications

Each contact within the Series 3300 connectors is rated for 10 amps at 750 volts RMS. Ratings for current and voltage above 250 volts AC or DC are according to applicable specifications contingent on the electrical equipment in which these connectors are used, taking into account the operational temperatures. The connectors are typically employed in a variety of applications, including but not limited to office and communication equipment, security and machine controls, vending and medical equipment, amusement machines, test and measuring instruments, data processing, and teaching machines.

C-clips and Mounting Efficiency

The Series 3300 connectors introduce SCC C-clips that allow for expedited panel mounting—halving the time traditionally required. This innovative mounting strategy utilizes exclusive C-clips that obviate the need for drilling holes or using screws, bolts, or rivets. Instead, customers can slide on C-clips that securely grip the connector body and seat into a groove parallel to the molded face flange. The dimension X, representing panel thickness, should be specified when ordering. C-clips are available for 2 to 12 contacts (3302 through 3312), and sizes and dimensions can be found on pages 10-1.

Tools for C-clips

To further enhance the efficiency of installation, SCC Tools offers hand tools designed for inserting C-clips swiftly. Three sizes of these tools are available, matching corresponding connectors, and are identified as SCC-1 for 3303, SCC-2 for 3304-3310, and SCC-3 for 3312.

Contact Orientation and Polarization

Polarization arrangement numbers for sockets are described from the wiring side perspective, with plug numbering being the opposite. A heavy-duty polarizing/ground contact is situated in position 14 for connectors numbered 3324, 3327, 3330, and in position 17 for connector 3333.
