The Series 3300 datasheet provides essential information on pre-grounded plug and socket connectors, which are specifically designed for safety through their pre-grounding feature. These connectors are U.L. recognized and CSA certified, indicating they have been tested to meet specific safety standards. The pre-grounding design ensures that the grounding contact engages before any other active contacts when mated, eliminating the need for manual contact shortening to secure a safe connection.

Main Features

The connectors are versatile, suitable for both chassis and cable mounting, and come with a range of mounting hardware and locking devices. They are also completely interchangeable with the Series 300 type connectors. The range includes a variety of styles and sizes, details of which can be found on pages 8 to 12.

From an electrical standpoint, individual contacts within the Series 3300 range are rated at 10 amps and 750 volts RMS, with current and voltage ratings possibly exceeding 250 volts AC/DC when used in accordance with the specifications of the electrical equipment they are part of. The connectors’ ideal applications are vast, spanning across sectors such as office machinery, communication equipment, security systems, machine controls, vending machines, medical equipment, amusement devices, test and measuring instruments, data processing hardware, and educational devices.

Installation and Configuration

A unique feature of the connectors is the utilization of C-clips for fast panel mounting. These clips allow for quick installation, eliminating the need for drilling and fastening with screws, bolts, or rivets. Designed to seat into a groove and grip the body of the connector securely, C-clips simplify the mounting process significantly. When ordering, customers must specify the panel thickness, with the C-clips compatibility ranging from 3302 to 3312 models, encompassing 2 to 12 contacts.

To aid the installation process, hand tools for inserting C-clips are also available in three sizes to match the connector models: SCC-1 for 3303, SCC-2 for 3304-3310, and SCC-3 for 3312.

Contact Orientation and Polarization

The datasheet includes information on contact orientation and polarization for sockets, which is crucial when setting up connectors correctly. The polarization numbers provided help with the correct alignment of the sockets as viewed from the wiring side, while the plug numbering is noted to be the opposite. Additionally, specific connectors like the 3324, 3327, 3330 feature a heavy-duty polarizing/ground contact in position 14, and for model 3333, it is located in position 17.
