The current rating is specified at 1 amp continuous per contact at an operating voltage of 100 VDC. The contact resistance is a low 10 milliohms at a test current of 200 milliamps. The socket retentions in the body can hold up to 5 pounds against barbs and most IC leads. Insertion Force requirements vary between standard and low insertion force types, with a maximum of 9 ounces for the former and 5.5 ounces for the latter. Correspondingly, withdrawal forces are rated at 2.5 ounces average (min 1.5 ounces) for standard, and 2 ounces average (min 0.35 ounces) for low insertion force types.
