Contacts and Plating:

Contacts are made from BeCu (Beryllium Copper) or phosphor bronze for some styles, while the shell is generally brass. Plating options include gold over nickel or tin over copper/nickel. The contacts offer a continuous current rating of 1 A per contact with a contact resistance of 10 milliohms at 200 milliamps.

Mechanical Specifications:

Socket retention in the body is specified at 5 lbs against barb. Standard lead size range accommodated is from .015″ to .022″ DIA, encompassing most IC leads. Two types of insertion and withdrawal forces are listed: standard and low insertion force (LIF).
