Overview of the PFC Series
The PFC Series of precision thin film chip resistors, produced by IRC Advanced Film Division, offers a combination of high-precision performance with the stability of Tantalum Nitride resistive film. These resistors are available in multiple sizes, namely 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1505, 2010, and 2512, designed to meet the stringent demands of both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and the MIL standard for military use.
Key Features
These resistors feature an ultra-stable Tantalum Nitride film, non-leaching Nickel barrier terminations, and wrap-around terminations for reliable solder connections. The precision chip resistors maintain high initial precision even in harsh surface mount soldering environments.
Electrical and Physical Properties
The electrical data section details the power rating, maximum voltage rating, temperature range, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) sensitivity, noise level, and substrate material for each chip size. The power ratings vary from 50mW to 1.0W, with max voltage ratings between 75V and 200V. Terminations are either 60/40 Sn/Pb or 100% tin (RoHS compliant) plated over a nickel barrier. The resistors operate within a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and demonstrate ESD tolerance between 2KV to 4KV, which is based on the Human Body Model (HBM). In terms of noise, these chip resistors achieve less than -25dB, with a substrate composed of 99.5% Alumina.
Manufacturing Capabilities
With a resistance range from 30Ω to over 1.0MΩ and various tolerance levels from ±5% down to ±0.02%, the PFC Series caters to diverse specifications. Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) options include ±25, ±15, ±10, ±50, or ±100 ppm/°C, addressing different levels of temperature stability needs.
