Overview

Omron introduces the High-frequency Relay G6Z, specifically designed for miniature high-frequency switching up to 2.6 GHz. The relay provides exceptional performance with an isolation of at least 30 dB, an insertion loss no greater than 0.5 dB, and a maximum VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) of 1.5 at 2.6 GHz. Through the application of “triplate micro stripline technology,” the relay offers superior high-frequency characteristics.

Product Features

The G6Z series relays are miniature in size, with precise dimensions of 20 x 8.6 x 8.9 mm (Length x Width x Height), tailored to conserve space in PCB design. Customers have the flexibility to choose between two terminal shapes: the E-shape and Y-shape, as well as standard or reverse contact arrangements, to fit a variety of PCB layouts. In addition, these relays come in two different characteristic impedance models: 75 Ohm and 50 Ohm, facilitating their integration into various high-frequency circuits. The entire series complies with RoHS standards, affirming its commitment to environmental sustainability.

Product Variants and Ordering Information

Omron’s G6Z series includes both non-latching and latching relays, with single and dual coil options. For non-latching relays, models G6Z-1PE and G6Z-1FE represent through-hole and surface mount options, respectively, at 75 Ohm impedance, while their equivalents at 50 Ohm impedance are named G6Z-1PE-A and G6Z-1FE-A. The Y-shape terminal options follow the same naming pattern, with standard and “-A” models denoting 75 Ohm and 50 Ohm configurations, respectively.

Latching relays with a single coil are designated as “U” models, and dual coil latching relays are identified as “K” models. Again, each comes in E-shape and Y-shape terminal versions, as well as standard and “-A” models for different impedance requirements.

When ordering, the rated coil voltage must be specified after the model number, e.g., G6Z-1PE-A-DC12 for a 12V DC relay. For surface mount models that require tape packing, “TR” should be appended to the model number, as shown in G6ZU-1FE-TR-DC12. Note that “TR” is solely for packaging identification and is not marked on the relay case.

Model Number Legend

The model number breakdown is given for ease of understanding the different features of the G6Z series. The base model number G6Z is followed by additional characters representing specific functionality: “U” for single coil latching, “K” for dual coil latching. The terminal structure is also notated, with “E” indicating an E-shape terminal and no suffix implying a Y-shape terminal. Contact arrangement is denoted as standard with no suffix and “R” indicating a reverse arrangement. Lastly, the rated coil voltage is represented by standard numbers indicating the voltage level in volts.
