Overview

Ordering Information

Ordering the correct capacitor involves a new part numbering system. The part number starts with NPO, followed by the case size (e.g., 0805) and includes designations for dielectric material, size, voltage rating, packaging, capacitance, and tolerance level. Voltage ratings range from 10V to 200V, and packaging options include 7-inch paper or embossed plastic tape in various pitches, applicable to specific case sizes.

Capacitance and Tolerance

Capacitance values for the NPO, XSR, X7R, and YSV dielectrics are denoted by two significant figures and a number of zeros, with “R” indicating a decimal point. Tolerance categories span from ±0.1pF up to ±20% with several grades in between, including precise options such as ±0.25pF and more general ones like ±5% or ±10%. These tolerances ensure that a variety of precision requirements can be met, depending on the need of the application.
