This performance specification sheet supersedes the previous MIL-PRF-19500/114H with Amendment 2 document and outlines the requirements for acquiring 50-watt silicon voltage regulator diodes. These diodes are modified versions of the non-suffix devices and are designed to support a nominal voltage tolerance of +5%. The document applies to diode types 1N2804 through 1N4562 and has been approved by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.

1. Scope of the Specification

The MIL-PRF_19500/114J specification details the performance requirements for 50-watt silicon voltage regulator diodes, listing 42 devices with both standard and reverse polarity. The document provides for four levels of product assurance: JAN, JANTX, JANTXV, and JANS, for each device type. These are designated in accordance with MIL-PRF-19500, the primary spec they must adhere to.

1.2 Package Outlines

All of the specified encapsulated diode types utilize a TO-204AA package outline (formerly modified TO-3), according to the figure provided within the documentation.

1.3 Maximum Ratings

The maximum ratings for the diodes include a power rating of 50 watts based on a case temperature (Tc) of 25°C plus 75°C. The devices are designed to derate at a rate of 0.5 watts per degree Celsius beyond the base Tc of 75°C. The junction temperature (Tj) and storage temperature (TstG) range between -65°C and +175°C, and -65°C to +200°C, respectively. The thermal resistance from junction to case (Rθjc) must not exceed 2.0°C/W.
