Description
The L4931 series comprises very low drop voltage regulators designed particularly for low noise and low power applications. These are also ideal for battery-powered systems, where their low quiescent currents and ability to go into a low-power standby mode result in enhanced battery life. The regulators feature an inhibit function, enabling a reduction in total power consumption by shutting down part of a board when not in use. This shutdown capability is compatible with TTL logic levels and is available in the PPAK and SO-8 packages.

The L4931’s standout feature is its exceptionally low dropout voltage of only 0.4 V, allowing it to operate effectively even when the supply voltage is very close to the output voltage. It maintains a quiescent current of approximately 50 µA when off and 600 µA when on, with a maximum output current capacity of 250 mA. The device provides an array of output voltage options, including 3.3 V, 3.5 V, 5 V, and 12 V.
