The Omron General Purpose Relay G7L is designed to be ideally suited for high-inrush fluid pump controls. These controls are commonly used in various industries and applications, such as pool/spa water processing, emergency services, and the chemical industry. Manufactured with high capacity and high withstand voltage, the G7L relay is engineered to avoid contact chattering during momentary voltage drops, which can be up to 50% of the rated voltage. The relay is constructed in accordance with the UL Class B standard and utilizes flame-resistant materials that qualify for UL94V-0 for all insulation material, ensuring safety and durability.

The coil of the G7L relay is AC-activated and can handle a wide range of voltage inputs, from 100 to 120 VAC or 200 to 240 VAC, accommodating both 50 and 60 Hz frequencies. The miniature size of the relay is advantageous for maximizing switching capacity, specifically when dealing with inductive loads.

For connectivity, the relay provides multiple terminal options, including quick-connect, screw, and PCB terminals, enhancing compatibility and ease of installation. Furthermore, it is designed for DIN track mounting. Ensuring comprehensive safety and quality standards, the G7L complies with UL, CSA, TUV, and IEC 950 regulations and features a contact gap of 3 mm. The relay is also RoHS Compliant, adhering to environmental and health standards by restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

When placing an order for the G7L relay, customers can select from various part numbers based on contact form and terminal types. The contact forms available include Single Pole Single Throw – Normally Open (SPST-NO) and Double Pole Single Throw – Normally Open (DPST-NO). Customers can add the desired coil voltage rating to the part number when ordering. Also, for each contact form, there are models available with or without test buttons and in several mounting configurations, such as E-bracket or upper bracket mounting options.

In terms of mounting accessories, buyers should be aware that E-brackets, adapters, front-connecting sockets, and covers are sold separately. The E-bracket and socket are essential for mounting purposes, and their part numbers are mentioned in the “Accessories” section for reference. For versions of the relay that are approved by VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik, Elektronik und Informationstechnik), Omron advises consulting with them directly to obtain the appropriate models and part numbers.

The first two pages of the datasheet provide a comprehensive overview of the General Purpose Relay G7L’s features, ordering information, and options for various accessories necessary for mounting and connectivity. This ensures that the user can select the most suitable relay model and accessories for their specific application needs.
