The FAN8434 is a one-chip motor driver IC designed for camcorder applications, comprising three motor drive blocks: capstan, drum, and loading.
Key Features
The capstan motor drive block features a 3-phase, linear BLDC motor driver with 3 hall sensors, built-in FG amplifier, and forward and reverse rotation function. The drum motor drive block uses a 3-phase soft commutating sensorless drive method with built-in FG and PG amplifiers. The loading motor drive block employs a single-phase H-bridge driving method with 4-mode selection (forward, reverse, brake, and standby).
Additional Features
The IC also includes common blocks with built-in thermal shut down (TSD), 4-normal op-amps, and a built-in amplitude limiter.
The FAN8434 is available in a 64-LQFP-1010 package and operates over a temperature range of 25°C to +75°C.
