Overview

The EO2O Series consists of sealed, snap-acting, momentary pushbutton switches that feature a long life contact design suitable for a variety of applications such as instrumentation, telecommunications, networking equipment, computers, and peripherals. Those switches are process sealed with a disposable splashproof boot, are RoHS compliant, and come in various models with different contact materials and configurations.

Specifications and Materials

The switches come with two types of contact ratings. The EX25 models use ‘B’ contact material with a maximum of 0.4 VA at 20 V AC or DC max, while the EX21 models use ‘G’ contact material rated for the same or at 120 V AC or 28 V DC max. The switches are engineered with break-before-make contacts, meaning multi-pole contacts do not activate simultaneously.

Structurally, the switches are made of flame retardant glass-filled Nylon 6/6 for the case and bushing, brass or steel for the switch support, and stainless steel for the support retainer. The switches boast an extended electrical life of 60,000 make-and-break cycles at full load, low contact resistance (below 50 mΩ typical initial), and a minimum insulation resistance of 10⁹ Ω. For dielectric strength, they can handle 1000 Vrms minimum at sea level. Operational temperature ranges between -30°C to +85°C.

Additional Features

Switches in the series can be fitted easily with a cap installation force not exceeding 10 lbs, offer reliable solderability per industry standards, and the terminals are sealed with epoxy. All models supplied with P, R, B, or G contact materials are ensured to be RoHS compliant, accommodating environmental and safety standards.

Build-A-Switch Program

The datasheet introduces the ‘Build-A-Switch’ program, where customers can select options from various categories (function, plunger size, bushing type, terminations, contact material, and seal type) with the possibility of customizations as requested via customer service. All models are designed to be process sealed, allowing them to endure soldering temperatures and pressure wash cleaning methods without compromise. For terminations, options range from through-hole to right-angle and vertical right-angle, accommodating various installation requirements. Additionally, every switch includes a disposable splashproof boot, offering extra protection against liquid ingress.
