Overview of CZ Family Series Connectors

The CZ Family Series consists of various connectors, including the CZ, CZW, CZH, CZHW, TZ, and TZW types, designed for disconnectable insulation displacement connections with a 1.5mm pitch. The connectors cater to high-density packaging needs and are versatile in application, offering solutions for both wire-to-board and wire-to-wire configurations.

Main Features

The CZ connectors come in a side entry type header, noted for its compact, low-profile, and distortion-resistant construction. The CZW variant is distinguished by its low insertion force, top entry type, and features a locking construction. Similarly, the CZH connector is valued for its housing lance, while the TZ and TZW connectors facilitate single and dual-row connections, respectively.

Particularly notable is the CZW connector’s panel lock design, which prevents wire entanglement during panel mounting, and its applicability to a wide range of panel thicknesses.

Electrical Specifications

These connectors are rated for a current of 2A AC or DC with a voltage rating of 100V AC or DC. They maintain a contact resistance initial value of 10mΩ max for the CZ series and 20mΩ max for the CZH series. After environmental testing, the resistance specifications adjust to 20mΩ max and 40mΩ max, respectively. Insulation resistance is a minimum of 500MΩ, and they can withstand 500V AC for one minute.

Materials and Compliance

The conductors are crafted from 7-strand annealed copper wire tin-coated within specified insulation O.D ranges. These connectors are RoHS compliant, and the compatibility with wire sizes ranges from AWG #28 to #26, accommodating panel thicknesses between 0.5 to 2mm.

Installation Guidelines

Detailed PC board and assembly layout diagrams are provided for through-hole and SMT types of CZ and CZW connectors, illustrating different entry types and configurations. Note that tolerances for all centers are non-cumulative at ±0.05mm. It is advised to contact JST for specific details about hole dimensions and PC board compatibility.

Certifications and Standards
