The Crydom DZW Series is a line of Solid State Relays (SSRs) designed for direct printed circuit board (PCB) mounting, with ratings up to 3.5 amperes at 280 VAC. These relays are controlled by a DC voltage and feature a zero-crossing switch type which is optimal for resistive loads. This switch type minimizes switching noise and electrical interference in the system. An internal snubber network is integrated into each SSR to protect against voltage transients.
Product Selection
The series includes three models with different load current ratings:
- 2A DZW20ZF
- 3A DZW203F
- 3.5 A DZW203F-14
Output Specifications
All models operate within a voltage range of 24 to 280 Vrms and can withstand transient overvoltages up to 600 Vpk. They are designed with a maximum off-state leakage current of 0.06 mA at the rated voltage and can handle a maximum off-state dv/dt of 200 V/µsec. The minimum power factor with the maximum load is as specified in the datasheet.
Input Specifications
The control voltage range is between 3.5 and 32 VDC with a typical must turn-on voltage of 1.0 VDC. The input impedance is rated at 1,500 Ohms, and the SSRs ensure a maximum turn-on and turn-off time of half a cycle respectively, given the AC frequency range of 47 to 63 Hz.
General Specifications
The SSRs boast a high dielectric strength of 4,000 Vrms between input/output/base elements and feature a thermal conductive epoxy encapsulation. The minimum insulation resistance is specified at 500 MOhms and a maximum capacitance of 10 pF at a rated control voltage of 3.32 VDC. The range for ambient operating temperature is from -30°C to +80°C, while the storage temperature range is from -30°C to +125°C. Each unit weighs approximately 0.6 ounces (17 grams).
General Notes
The specifications provided in the datasheet are measured at a standard temperature of 25°C unless stated otherwise. Furthermore, parameters like dielectric strength and insulation resistance are tested between the input and output, with the off-state dv/dt test conducted per EIA/NARM standard RS.
