This datasheet provides detailed specifications for Ceramic Chip Capacitors, focusing on the NPO/COG, X7R, XSR, ZSU, and YSV series. Each series is tailored for specific temperature coefficients, voltage coefficients, dissipation factors, insulation resistance, ageing, withstanding voltage, test parameters, and capacitance tolerance. RoHS compliance is noted for all components.

NPO/COG Series

Operating at temperatures from -55°C to +125°C, the NPO/COG series showcases minimal capacitance change with temperature, a negative temperature voltage coefficient of -30PPM/°C, and an insulation resistance of >1000 ohms f or 100 G ohms, whichever is less at 25°C. No ageing is observed for these capacitors, which can withstand 22.5 times their rated voltage (VDCW). The dissipation factor is 0.1% max, and capacitance tolerance is available in multiple graded options such as B, C, D, F, G, J, and K.

X7R Series

The X7R series is suited for a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. The temperature coefficient is ±15%/°C max without a voltage coefficient. This series specifies a dissipation factor based on the voltage rating (2.5% max at 50/100 volts) and exhibits similar insulation resistance characteristics to the NPO/COG. Ageing occurs at a rate of 2.5% per decade hour.

XSR and ZSU Series

The XSR series operates from -55°C to +85°C and ZSU series from +10°C to +85°C. Both series do not specify a voltage coefficient, and the dissipation factors vary by voltage ratings similarly to the X7R series. Ageing for XSR is standard at 2.5% per decade hour, while ZSU experiences a 5% per decade hour rate.

YSV Series

For applications operating from -30°C to +85°C, the YSV series is designed with a temperature coefficient of +22%/°C max and a higher dissipation factor scaling with voltage. The ageing rate is set at 7% per decade hour.

Testing and Marking

Test parameters involve frequency and voltage conditions catered for each series, providing a thorough performance metric across the range. Additionally, all capacitors conform to RoHS compliance standards reflecting environmentally responsible manufacturing practices. Reel dimensions and taping specifications conform to EIA-481-1-A standards.

Ordering Information

Ordering codes composed of series designation, temperature rating, rated voltage, capacitance, tolerance, termination, marking, and packaging options provide a comprehensive identification system for these capacitors. The datasheet emphasizes that Nickel Barrier termination with 100% matte Tin is standard, with other options available upon request.
