IRC “B” Series Resistors

The “B” series resistors offer power ratings up to 4 times higher than standard power wirewound resistors of equal size, thanks to a finer heat dissipation pattern.

Key features:

  • Heat Dissipation: Beryllia core provides the finest possible pattern
  • Power Rating: Up to 4 times higher than conventional resistors, depending on physical size
  • Wattage: From 1 to 18 watts
  • Temperature Coefficients: Standard (+20 PPM/°C to +650 PPM/°C) and special (-20 PPM/°C to +6000 PPM/°C) options available

Specifications:

Resistance values range from 150K, with tolerances from +1% to +0.1%. The resistors have a special high-temperature silicone coating, impervious to moisture, salt water immersion, and abrasion.

Dielectric strength is 500 volts AC for B-1, B-2, and B-3, and 1000 volts for all others. Insulation resistance is a minimum of 5000 megaohms dry.

Lead dimensions and styles vary by model, with tinned copperweld leads as standard.
