Overview
The ATC 600F Series Capacitors are presented as ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR) components with high quality factor (Q) designed for use in radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. Their key features include being the lowest ESR in their class, having the highest working voltage in class at 250 volts, and standard EIA sizes, including the 0805. Additionally, options for laser marking are available.
Applications and Circuit Use
These capacitors cater to a range of advanced applications comprising cellular base stations, wireless communications, broadband wireless services, satellite communications, and WiMAX (802.16). In circuit design, they are suitable for filter networks, high Q frequency sources, as well as for matching, tuning, coupling, and DC blocking networks.
Product Variants
The ATC 600 Series entails various case sizes: 0402, 0603, and 0805. These are engineered to conform to the demanding specifications outlined in EIA-198, MIL-PRF-55681, and MIL-PRF-123.
Electrical and Mechanical Specifications
The capacitors range from 0.1 to 240 picofarads (pF) in capacitance with stated tolerances available in the capacitor value chart. They showcase a working voltage (WVDC) of 250 volts, a remarkable quality factor of over 2000 MHz, an operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C without derating, and a Temperature Coefficient of Capacitance (TCC) of 0 ± 30 parts per million per degree Celsius.
Three types of terminations are offered: a standard tin plated over a nickel barrier, a tin plated over a non-magnetic barrier, and a tin/lead solder plated over a nickel barrier. The capacitors ensure at least 90% solder coverage on end terminations, with a terminal strength of 1 pound typical, 2 pounds minimum.
Environmental and Quality Standards
They exceed environmental specifications with an insulation resistance of 10⁵ megohms minimum at +25°C and 10⁴ megohms minimum at +125°C at rated WVDC. Regarding durability and reliability, they can undergo 2000 hours of life testing at +125°C with 2 times the rated WVDC, sustain thermal shock through multiple cycles from -55°C to +125°C, and resist moisture according to MIL-STD-202, Method 106. The dielectric withstanding voltage (DWV) is 2.5 times the rated WVDC for 5 seconds, ensuring robust performance.
There are no stipulated aging effects or piezoelectric effects. These capacitors also cater to legislative requirements with a mentioned military drawing number and compliance with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).
