Overview

The ATC 600F Series Capacitors are designed to provide the lowest Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) and highest Quality Factor (Q) among similar products. These capacitors are made of NPO (Negative-Positive-Zero) material, making them ideally suited for Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave applications due to their high stability and reliability.

Applications

These capacitors are used extensively in critical communication infrastructure, including cellular base stations, wireless communications, broadband wireless services, satellite communications, and WiMAX (802.16). They are integral components in a range of circuit applications, such as filter networks, high Q frequency sources, and various networks used for matching, tuning, coupling, bypassing, and DC blocking.

Electrically, the ATC 600F capacitors range in capacitance from 0.1 to 240 picofarads (pF) and can withstand a working voltage of up to 250 volts DC (WVDC). They also maintain a Quality Factor of greater than 2000 MHz and an operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C without any derating of working voltage. Furthermore, these capacitors exhibit a Temperature Coefficient of Capacitance (TCC) of 0 ± 30 parts per million per degree Celsius (ppm/°C), exemplifying their stability under varying temperatures.

In terms of mechanical specifications, terminations come standard as tin-plated over a nickel barrier, with options for non-magnetic barriers or tin/lead solder plating. End terminations exhibit a solder coverage of 90% and can withstand terminal strength of a typical 1 pound, with a minimum of 2 pounds.

Environmental Specifications and Approvals

The ATC 600F series capacitors are highly durable, as evidenced by their ability to resist harsh environmental conditions. They can endure life-testing of 2000 hours at +125°C at twice the rated WVDC, cycles of thermal shock from -55°C to +125°C at rated WVDC, and the moisture resistance tests in accordance with MIL-STD-202, Method 106. The capacitors exhibit no piezoelectric effects and have no aging effects, guaranteeing a stable performance over time. With a 2.5x rated WVDC for 5 seconds dielectric withstanding voltage (DWV), these capacitors show excellent insulation resistance—more than 10^5 megaohms (MΩ) at +25°C and more than 10^4 MΩ at +125°C.

The products have secured military approval, as indicated by the relevant DSCC Drawing Numbers and compliance with EIA-198, MIL-PRF-55681, and MIL-PRF-123 standards, ensuring they meet stringent quality and performance guidelines. In addition, they meet RoHS environmental standards.
