a3977-microstepping-dmos-driver-with-translator.pdf

The A3977 is a complete microstepping motor driver with a built-in translator, designed to operate bipolar stepper motors in full-, half-, quarter-, and eighth-step modes.

It features a 35 V, +2.5 A output rating, low TDS(on) outputs, and automatic current decay mode detection/selection.

Key Features:

Low power dissipation due to internal synchronous rectification and crossover-current protection.

Easy implementation with a simple interface, no phase-sequence tables, high-frequency control lines, or complex interfaces to program.

Internal protection includes thermal shutdown with hysteresis, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and crossover-current protection.

The device is available in two packages: a 44-pin PLCC and a 28-pin TSSOP, both lead (Pb) free.
