Overview

The F4100 SERIES oscillators are RoHS compliant / Pb-free, High Speed CMOS (HCMOS) surface mount device (SMD) oscillators provided by FOX Electronics. These oscillators are specified for a frequency range from 0.012 MHz to 170.000 MHz with various stability and temperature range options.

Part Number Selection

There are several models within the F4100 SERIES, each with different frequency stabilities and operating temperature ranges:

F4100: ±20 PPM from 10°C to +70°C
F4100R: ±20 PPM from -40°C to +85°C
F4105: ±50 PPM from 10°C to +70°C
F4105R: ±50 PPM from -40°C to +85°C
F4106: ±25 PPM from 10°C to +70°C
F4106R: ±25 PPM from -40°C to +85°C
F4108: ±20 PPM from 10°C to +70°C

These oscillators are presented as lower-cost and faster delivery alternatives to conventional oscillator solutions, with the additional benefit of low jitter.

The datasheet also notes that the ENABLE/DISABLE FUNCTION tolerates variations in temperature, voltage, and load changes, exclusive of shock and vibration influences. An internal pull-up resistor allows the output to be active if the strap pin is left open. Furthermore, it recommends placing a 0.01pF bypass capacitor between power (VDD) and ground (GND) to minimize noise. Lastly, all dimensions and specifications are subject to change without notice.
