Product Overview

The datasheet describes the 1N3O16BUR-1 through 1N3045BUR-1 series of surface mount Zener diodes, which are designed for use in high-density applications that require low parasitic elements. These diodes are the surface mount equivalent of the 1N3O16B-1 through 1N3O45B-1 series and are hermetically sealed and metallurgically bonded for enhanced reliability. They have a voltage range from 6.8 volts to 110 volts and come with various voltage tolerances (5%, 2%, and 1%). The Zener diodes are available in multiple military qualifications, including JAN, JANTX, and JANTXV, per MIL-PRF-19500/115. Additionally, lower voltage options are available in the IN3821AUR-1 through 1N3828AUR-1 series. RoHS compliant versions are also offered for commercial-grade applications.

Features and Benefits

The Zener diodes feature a leadless surface mount DO-213AB (MELF, LL41) package, making them suitable for situations where board space is at a premium. Internally, they have a metallurgically enhanced contact design that offers greater reliability and lower thermal resistance. These components regulate voltage across a broad operating current and temperature range, deliver low reverse (leakage) currents, and are non-sensitive to ESD. Furthermore, they are inherently radiation hard, offering an advantage for specific applications. An axial-leaded package, the DO-41, is also available for these diodes.

Maximum Ratings

The maximum ratings included in the datasheet provide critical operation parameters. These are the junction and storage temperature range (-55 to +175°C), thermal resistance junction-to-end cap (50°C/W), DC power dissipation (1.0 Watt), forward voltage at 200 mA (1.2 Volts), and solder temperature for 10 seconds (260°C). There’s also a derating guideline linearly from 125°C to zero at 175°C.
