Remote Start Feature
The remote start feature allows you to start the engine from outside the vehicle using the remote start key fob. This feature helps to cool or warm the passenger compartment.
Requirements for Remote Start
The following conditions must be met to use the remote start feature:
- The vehicle must be ready to drive.
- There must be enough fuel in the fuel tank.
- The Climatronic system must be set to cool or warm the vehicle interior.
- The emergency flashers must be switched off.
- The selector lever must be in Park (P) and the brake pedal must not be depressed.
Using the Remote Start Feature
Keep a distance of at least 2 yards (meters) between the remote start key fob and the vehicle. Press and hold the INFO button, then press the x2 button twice to start the engine.
The LED in the key fob flashes green when the engine is starting, and stays on for about 2 seconds when the engine is running.
