Introduction
This report presents the results of a vehicle technology assessment, model development, and validation of a 2020 Tesla Model 3 AWD.
The assessment was conducted by Argonne National Laboratory for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to provide technology effectiveness input into the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) model.
Vehicle Description
The 2020 Tesla Model 3 AWD is an all-electric vehicle with a dual motor, all-wheel drive package, and a long-range battery pack.
The vehicle features a powertrain cooling system that combines and manages cooling loops for the battery and powertrain components.
