Toyota Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0027-16 MIL “ON” DTC P0401 and/or Rattle After Cold Soak for 2010-2012 Prius, Prius V, and Prius PHV

Introduction

This bulletin addresses a vibration issue due to rough idle and/or tapping noise from the HV transaxle at cold start in some Prius, Prius V, and Prius PHV vehicles. The Check Engine Light may also illuminate with DTC P0401 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected).

Warranty Information

This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Additional warranties may apply for California specification vehicles.

Parts Information

Required parts include a Kit; EGR Valve (Valve Assy, EGR) and other components.

Required Tools & Equipment

Required tools include Techstream 2.0, Techstream Lite, and other specialized equipment.
