Important Safety Precautions
When installing this accessory, care must be taken to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. Follow approved guidelines to ensure quality installation.
Refer to the “Accessory Installation Practices” document for guidelines on vehicle protection, safety, and electrical component disassembly/reassembly.
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Precautions
Failure to follow procedures may result in possible deployment of airbag, personal injury, or unnecessary repairs to SRS.
Turn the key switch to the LOCK position, remove the key from the ignition switch, and disconnect the negative battery cable.
Wiring Precautions
Do not pull on vehicle wires and/or wire harness. Use nylon ties and adhesive foam strips to secure the vehicle harness and the trailer wire harness.
Ensure all wires are properly insulated from ground.
