Installation Precautions and Preparation
Please familiarize yourself with the installation instructions and inspect the kit components to ensure everything is present, undamaged, and familiarize yourself with the parts.
Use seat and floor protectors to avoid damage to vehicle surfaces. Disconnecting the battery prior to any ground or harness removal is recommended to prevent possible vehicle damage.
Disassemble Vehicle Trim
Detailed steps are provided for disassembling the vehicle trim, including detaching the upper tailgate cover, removing the large liftgate trim piece, and prying rubber harness gasket away from the liftgate and vehicle panel.
Disassembly Steps
The steps provided include:
- Detach upper tailgate cover using a Nylon Removal Tool (NRT) and prying along the upper edge
- Pull out the trim to release fasteners and retain small white clips
- Remove the large liftgate trim piece using a NRT and hand
- Pry rubber harness gasket away from liftgate and vehicle panel
- Remove rear driver side panels and headliner fasteners
- Remove lower door sill panel and kick panel trim
- Remove left IP trim panel and steering wheel adjustment handle
- Separate and remove upper and lower trim panels of the steering wheel
