The new generation of engines delivers refined technology that rewrites the rules. The optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) not only increases the agility of the new Boxster but also enhances driving pleasure.

Chassis

The chassis has been totally redesigned, with a wider track and generously dimensioned wheels providing an even sportier driving experience. The optional mechanically locking rear differential delivers high traction and increased performance.

The engine, a powerful mid-level mounted engine, offers extremely low fuel consumption and emissions, with values of 214 g/km and 9.1 l/100 km, respectively.

Drivetrain

Both models are powered by the new generation of engines, including the 2.9-litre six-cylinder Boxer engine in the Boxster and the 3.4-litre six-cylinder Boxer engine in the Boxster S.

The optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) features both manual and automatic modes and is available as an option for the first time. The precision six-speed manual gearbox makes optimum use of the power and torque of the new engine.

Efficiency

The new Boxster has an additional power boost, with direct fuel injection (DFI) fitted as standard. This provides optimum fuel mixture formation for improved fuel efficiency and distinct reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The result is a driving experience that goes far beyond superficial pleasure, with values of 15% reduction in fuel consumption and 16% reduction in CO2 emissions.
