Condition

Some versions of Model S and X front drive unit halfshafts may cause excessive vibrations during hard acceleration at higher ride height settings.

Correction

Inspect the vehicle for excessive vibrations from the front drive unit during hard acceleration. If the condition is present, replace both front drive unit halfshafts with updated components, and if necessary, replace the front drive unit clevis and axle seal.

Important Notes

Test drive the vehicle to determine if vibration under hard acceleration is detected. Check the vehicle build date to determine the correct repair procedure.

Use the specified tools and parts to replace the front drive unit halfshafts, clevis, and axle seal.
